Work through these steps in order – in the vast majority of cases the problem is solved afterwards.
1. Subscription or import?
Did you download and import an ICS file back then instead of subscribing? Then the calendar will never update by design. Solution: delete the imported events and subscribe to the calfeed properly.
2. Allow for your calendar app's delay
Google and Outlook need a few hours for updates, occasionally more than a day – this cannot be sped up. See how current is my calfeed? for all intervals.
3. Is the calendar enabled?
- iPhone/iPad: Calendar app → “Calendars” → is the calfeed checked?
- Google Calendar app: Settings → tap the calfeed → is “Sync” enabled? Newly subscribed calendars are often disabled on the phone at first.
- Samsung Calendar: Settings → Manage calendars → Google account → calfeed enabled?
- calovo app (Android): The app has a built-in check – tap ⋮ at the top right → “Help: calendar not showing?”. It checks permission, account, calendar, and sync, and offers the matching repair right away.
- Outlook: is the calendar checked in the list on the left?
4. The right account?
A subscription always lives in a specific account (iCloud, “Only on my iPhone”, a specific Google or Microsoft account). Check that the device is signed in with the same account you subscribed with.
5. Does it say “More events to follow”?
Then your subscription works fine – there are simply no events known for this calfeed right now. Often a season change is behind it: how to check for a new calendar.
6. A protected calendar?
For some calendars the owner has to approve your subscription first. Until then you only see a note instead of the events. If you left a message for the calendar owner when subscribing, wait for their confirmation.
7. Set up the subscription again
If nothing helps: remove the calfeed and subscribe again. This clears account and app issues in one step.
