Mozart+ Festival Concert

In memory of the birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on 27 January 1756, the series »Mozart +« was established. It annually juxtaposes and honors Mozart's musical work with that of a composer of the 20th century or the present day. At the concert on 29 January 2018 at 8 pm in the Cuvilliés-Theater der Residenz, Leoš Janáček (1854 – 1928) will be Mozart's counterpart on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his death. The highly gifted violinist Silvan Dezini and the highly talented countertenor Iurii Iushkevich, both scholarship holders of the LYRA Foundation, and the Kammerorchester der Bayerischen Philharmonie will present, under the direction of Mark Mast, the Violin Concerto No. 4 and well-known Arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi and Georg Friedrich Händel, as well as the Suite for Strings by Leoš Janáček.
