Verbraucherzentrale Bayern e. V.

Verbraucherzentrale Bayern is an independent, predominantly publicly funded, non-profit organization. The goal of its work is to inform, advise, and support consumers on matters of private consumption.

We are the representative body for all consumers in Bavaria. We advocate for better consumer protection towards politics, administration, and the economy. We provide an overview of complex markets and help clarify complex market conditions.

More than half a million consumers rely annually on the qualified advice of our experts in 16 advisory centers in Bavaria, on our telephone hotlines, or on the internet.

The findings from individual case work serve – in addition to the further development of our individual advisory and information services – also preventive consumer protection for the general public. We

- pursue legal violations (such as those against the Act Against Unfair Competition) through warnings and lawsuits and represent consumer interests at the political-parliamentary level

- inform the media and the public about important consumer topics

- carry out consumer-relevant actions, projects, and exhibitions, and

- collaborate with schools and institutions for youth and adult education.
