About TTC Ober-Erlenbach
The Vision
To play table tennis from recreational sports, health sports, and competitive sports to top-level sports with as many local young athletes as possible, who feel at home in TTC Ober-Erlenbach, thereby showing the entire region that TTC OE is more than just a club.
The Concept
The TTC OE concept "From Beginner to Expert" is intended to enable young German players to combine their professional and sporting careers. The project for dual career planning is closely linked and coordinated with the Hessian Table Tennis Association and the Elite School of Sports, a network system comprising the Carl-von-Weinberg-Schule in Frankfurt, the Olympic Support Center (OSP) Hesse, and the House of Athletes (sports boarding school). Another strategic partner is the sports city of Bad Homburg, which, with its sports policy orientation, is also to contribute to the success of the project and secure the important sustainability through its connections.
The Goals
In this season 2014-2015, sporting promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. Organizationally, the aim is to achieve the best spectator record in the 3. Bundesliga.
Medium-term, in the next 2 - 3 years, sportingly: establishment in the 2. Bundesliga and promotion of the following teams, integration of further young players from the network system, building up a 2nd and 3rd women's team; organizationally, expansion of structures in the largest TT club in the Hochtaunuskreis district.
Long-term, sportingly: promotion to the 1. Bundesliga and becoming the best TT club in the youth sector in the Hochtaunuskreis district; organizationally, becoming a known brand in Hessian sports and German table tennis, and creating full-time positions.
The Logo
For 26 years, the "Erle" (Alder) and the "Bach" (Brook) accompanied TTC OE on its way through the table tennis world. The coat of arms of Ober-Erlenbach, modified at the time, has found its final resting place in the history books of TTC OE for the past year and a half. The Bad Homburg Table Tennis Club, the most successful TT club in the Rhine-Main area, ushered in a new era in August 2013: New league, new style - more professionalism. This began with a modern, new logo consisting of an image and wordmark. It symbolizes: TTC OE is 100% table tennis. The logo expressively reflects the characteristics of our sport: tension, speed, and dynamics. The new club colors red, black, and white are used. The logo was only the beginning of TTC OE's new appearance. Other media such as the season booklet, match day flyers, announcement posters, and much more followed shortly as part of the TTC OE concept. In time for the start of the 13-14 season, the website was also relaunched in its new guise.
The Slogan
"...more than a club." The slogan "more than a club" is intended to make clear that at the Table Tennis Club Ober-Erlenbach, one does not only play, love, and live table tennis, but also experiences a lot of comradeship and sociability, combined with a modern attitude towards the history, present, and future of the ping-pong game in the context of a rapidly changing society and media landscape. We face the challenges of the times, the zeitgeist, and the demographic development in Germany.
The Presentation and External Image
Since August 2013, the club has placed great emphasis on a professional presentation of its Bundesliga matches. Red floor, red A-boards, Table Tennis Fun Park, side program, VIP tent, and much more are intended to turn the match into an event and thus offer visitors added value. The spectator sees the ball better on the dark floor, is encouraged to participate, and gets a lot for little money. Statements from players and managers of other Bundesliga clubs such as "This is already first-league ready here in Ober-Erlenbach" confirm the great external impact that TTC OE has already achieved in its short time of Bundesliga membership. Constant new visitor records in the hall, on the homepage, in the live ticker, and on Facebook show that TTC OE is on the right track here.
The Club
TTC Ober-Erlenbach was founded on July 17, 1987, and now has almost 200 members in 14 teams (one women's team, 7 men's teams, and 6 youth teams). TTC OE organizes at least one major tournament at the district level every year, held the Germany Cup for students in 2011, and hosted the Hessian Individual Championships in 2014. Every year there is a club championship, a Christmas party, a summer festival, a trip to the Cannstatter Wasen, a visit to the Bundesliga club and TT friend TV Hilpoltstein, numerous Skat evenings, and other social gatherings during the year. In October 2013, several members again visited the Table Tennis European Championships in Schwechat (Austria) and cheered on the German national team.
TTC OE - more than a club!
