ratiopharm ulm

ratiopharm ulm is the sporting flagship of an entire region. Since 2001, ratiopharm ulm has been led by BBU '01 GmbH and managers Dr. Thomas Stoll (Sports) and Andreas Oettel (Finance).

After five years in the 2. Bundesliga, promotion to the 1. Basketball Bundesliga followed in 2006. In 2012, the Ulm team reached the German runner-up title. For their performances, Head Coach Thorsten Leibenath (as "Coach of the Year") and Center John Bryant (as "Most Valuable Player") were honored after the 2011/12 BBL season. In 2013 and 2014, ratiopharm ulm was the runner-up in the Cup behind ALBA Berlin. And Ulm is also making a name for itself internationally: The K.o. rounds of the Eurocup were reached two years in a row. In 2016, ratiopharm ulm again made it to the final for the German Championship and became German runner-up. With a record series of 27 consecutive Bundesliga wins, the Uuulmer wrote history in 2017. In addition, Ulm has established itself as a training location for young (German) players. Ismet Akpinar, Per Günther, Daniel Theis, Robin Benzing, and Konrad Wysocki matured into national players in the ratiopharm jersey.

Since December 10, 2011, the Bundesliga team has played its home games in the ratiopharm arena, which holds 6,200 spectators. The premiere in the brand-new arena was sold out within 4 hours. And the great interest in Bundesliga basketball in the Ulm/Neu-Ulm region continues: ratiopharm ulm has so far reported sold-out crowds for all Bundesliga games in the ratiopharm arena - with the end of the 2017/18 season, 141 consecutive sold-out games.
