About BBI Bündnis der Bürgerinitiaven
The Alliance is an association of citizen initiatives in the Rhine-Main metropolitan area. The Alliance fights for the recovery and preservation of the quality of life for its inhabitants.
It advocates for the creation of a livable region and demands protection for people from the harmful effects of air traffic, expressing solidarity with all those affected by traffic noise. The Alliance calls for a responsible approach to mobility.
The area burdened by noise and pollutants extends from Rheinhessen in the west, through Mainz and Frankfurt, to the Bavarian Lower Main in the east, and from Darmstadt in the south to the Wetterau in the north.
The development of air traffic in the Rhine-Main region must be guided by the living needs of the people who live here. The heavy burden from exhaust fumes and aircraft noise leads only to the conclusion that the airport in its current form and size is incompatible with human health and the environment.
